My point is that you can't compare the Focus to the Type R because Honda in it's infinite wisdom never imports the top JDM cars. I'm sorry, but they'll lose out in the long run. Do you really think that all those people in the US who bought the last gen Si will move on to something which has inferior suspension, ugly syling (all 3 are ugly, but you'd expect more from Honda) and nothing that really appeals?
I'm p'd off 'cause we didn't get the JDM spec ITR. Reason? Because people would buy it over the S2000. So we get a watered down version instead. Once again Honda shafts it's Aussie base with the Civic (even our VTiR hatch was only 160bhp B16A - our VTiR coupe was the US Si). There are better non-Honda cars in the offering in our market for less of the price and more of the performance.

Hold on there...they're comparing the Si to an SVT...which is not comparable. If they were to compare that to a real Type-r to the SVT then the results would be totally different. 40 hp weight loss on the Si and Type-r. Although it is the same engine as the new 200-HP RS-X, which means a quick fix to an Si's HP dilema.
As for the bashing of the new Si, sorry have you seen the market lately? Ford has the Focus and VW has the Golf. Now if you were to compare styles among those in its class...the Si stands out in front of the crowd hands down.

Add to that the car is just plain ugly and overpriced and the new ITR (which isn't a ITR really - unlike the last one we got) is very ordinary to drive and you really get the impression that Honda really doesn't want to sell cars.
